Emergency Closure (Bad Weather)

It is our aim to keep the school open, whatever the weather!

On the rare occasions when the school may have to close, parents and carers will be advised via our Teachers to Parents Text Messaging system. Radio stations Heart Essex FM and Dream 100 will also be informed of the school closure.

If the weather deteriorates during the school day, we will endeavour to remain open until our usual time. However, if the road conditions deteriorate during the school day, and you are not within walking distance of school, you may pick up your child early. If you are within walking distance, we request that you leave your child at school to avoid disruption to learning.

On snowy days, we will provide the children with the opportunity to play outside during break times unless the weather is too severe or conditions too dangerous. Therefore, on those days, it is essential that children bring wellies (or something similar), a warm waterproof coat, a hat and gloves for wearing outside, along with shoes to change into indoors.
