French Intent

The intent of our French curriculum at Frinton Primary School is to foster a love for languages and to equip our pupils with the necessary skills to communicate effectively in French. We aim to:

• Develop Linguistic Skills: Ensure that all pupils acquire a strong foundation in listening, speaking, reading, and writing French, enabling them to engage with the language confidently.
• Promote Cultural Awareness: Encourage an appreciation of French culture, traditions, and customs, fostering a global mindset and respect for diversity among our pupils.
• Foster Lifelong Learning: Instil a passion for language learning that encourages pupils to continue their French studies beyond primary education and to appreciate the significance of language skills in the wider world.
• Support Cognitive Development: Utilise the learning of a foreign language as a means to enhance cognitive abilities and to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity among students.
