Geography Intent

At Frinton Primary School, we strive to instil a deep understanding and appreciation of geography in every pupil. Our curriculum is designed to foster an inquisitive mindset, enabling students to explore, question, and engage with the world around them. The key intentions of our geography programme are:

  • Cultural Awareness: To nurture an awareness of diverse cultures and environments, encouraging pupils to develop a global perspective and a deep admiration for the world’s diversity.
  • Local and Global Context: To encourage learners to make connections between local and global issues, understanding the implications of human actions on the environment and society.
  • Geographical Skills: To equip pupils with essential geographical skills, including map reading, data interpretation, and fieldwork, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Sustainability Awareness: To inspire a sense of responsibility towards the environment, encouraging pupils to consider their role in creating a sustainable future.

We aim for our geography curriculum to be inclusive and engaging, reflecting the needs and interests of our diverse student body while adhering to the National Curriculum.
