Our Ethos and Values
At Frinton-on-Sea Primary School we strive for all pupils to be the best they can be. Through our school values of compassion, commitment and ambition, we help to prepare children for life in modern Britain, promoting democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for (and tolerance of) those with different faiths and beliefs, as well as those with no faith.
We expect all members of our school community to be respectful, and believe that everyone should have the opportunity to grow academically, socially, morally, culturally and spiritually.
- Throughout our school, we aim to model and encourage a ‘growth mindset’, equipping children to assume responsibility for their own learning and behaviour. We particularly value the development of resilience, independence, critical thinking, creativity and personal goal-setting.
- We acknowledge effort and achievement, whether this be academic, or otherwise.
- We celebrate and affirm one another, demonstrating our pride in others’ successes through positive praise, messages home, the award of badges, 'Fantastic Friday' nominations, Head of School and end-of-year awards.
- We are sensitive to each other’s needs, showing humanity and humility and embracing the fact that everyone is welcomed, included and accepted in our school - an important part of our 'There are No Outsiders’ philosophy. We encourage children to be courageous, having the confidence to challenge injustice or unkindness.
- We use 'Marvellous Manners': greeting each other with a smile and championing encouraging, friendly behaviour. We are committed to making a positive difference to the people around us and within our wider world.
