PSHE Intent

The intent of our Personal, Social, Health, and Economic (PSHE) education program is to provide a comprehensive and enriching curriculum that fosters the holistic development of each child. We aim to empower pupils with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to lead fulfilling lives and make informed decisions in their personal and social interactions. Our curriculum is designed to:

  • Promote Well-being: Foster emotional resilience, empathy, and mental health awareness, encouraging children to seek help and support when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with parents to support family wellbeing myHappymind for Parents supports parents and carers in developing a deep understanding of the science of happiness and wellbeing so that they’re able to support their children at home giving the same message.
  • Develop Responsible Citizens: Instil an understanding of rights and responsibilities, promoting respect for diversity, and an awareness of global issues, thereby encouraging engagement in community life.
  • Enhance Life Skills: Equip students with critical thinking and decision-making skills, enabling them to navigate challenges and engage in healthy relationships. We give children the preventative strategies, skills and tools they need to thrive in the modern world
  • Support Academic Success: Recognise the connection between personal development and academic achievement, ensuring that PSHE is integrated into a broader context of learning.
