Religious Education
RE Intent
At Frinton Primary School, our intent for Religious Education is to provide a rich and engaging curriculum that promotes understanding, respect, and appreciation for diverse religions and beliefs. We aim to develop the pupils’ knowledge of the major world religions, while also nurturing their personal, social, and moral development. Our RE curriculum is designed to:
- Foster Spiritual Development: Encourage pupils to explore fundamental questions about life, belief, and morality, promoting their spiritual and emotional growth.
- Promote Inclusivity and Tolerance: Cultivate an environment where pupils learn to respect and appreciate cultural diversity, fostering a sense of belonging and community. This is also emphasised through our No Outsiders half-termly assemblies and lessons.
- Develop Critical Thinking: Equip pupils with the ability to engage thoughtfully with differing viewpoints, encouraging them to reflect on their own beliefs and the beliefs of others.
- Encourage Ethical Understanding: Empower pupils to understand moral dilemmas and ethical discernment within the context of various religions, enhancing their moral compass.
